I recently stumbled across a few eye catching designs while on one of my favorite social network sites for Artists and I just had to drop the Artist a line. Miguel Duarte, of Tucson, Arizona is a very talented guy when it comes to rendering new ideas a concepts for consumer products. Here s what he had to say to a few questions we gave him.

The Wall Magazine (TWM): Where are you from?
Miguel Duarte : I’m from the hot, desert “hell” of Tucson, Arizona; but don’t worry its only a dry heat.

TWM: What school(s) did you attend (if any)?
Miguel Duarte: I went to college at the University of Arizona in Tucson, yes I am the shy type who was afraid to branch out of my little habitat. Even though I didn’t pursue or obtain an “artsy” or design degree, I’m looking forward to going back to college for Industrial Design.

In the era of the downloadable mixtape, aspiring rappers are reaching a broader audience. It is a lot easier to access new joints an Artist drops. The free mixtape is the separating line from quality Artists and YouTube MCs. That being said – while listening to Wale’s Back to the Feature mixtape, I came across an Artist by the name of J. Cole. Fans may know him as The Therapist or Jermaine Cole.

Hailing from North Carolina, the aspiring artist made a name for himself while attending St. Johns University in New York City. His most recent project, The Warm Up is a crispy and clear compilation of poetry and rhythm. Cole is a regular dude talking about real life situations – what separates this regular dude from the masses is his ability to articulate his experiences.

Monday afternoon seemed like a regular Monday. So I did what I normally do to cheer myself up – take a trip downtown to the Apple store. I know, I’m a geek right? We’ll I get there to chop-it-up with a friend of mine and maybe cop something for the Mac, but he’s busy helping Kevin Lamar, a well known percussionist that happened to also be Asher Roth’s drummer. The Aug. 3rd Asher Roth/Kid Cudi concert at the Norva had slipped my mind. Sure enough my friend introduced me to Kev, and the next thing I know, I’m watching 88 Keys, B.o.B., Asher, and Cudi perform. Oh, and by the way, Kanye West was there too. I guess this was a G.O.O.D. Monday after all.
